Mohamed Magid, Executive Director of the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, said that the buyers’ mission, which was brought in from different countries, came after organizing and effort that lasted for more than a month to select the best importing companies and potential customers and linking them with the Egyptian exporting companies participating in the exhibition in the fertilizer and agricultural supplies sector, each in its field.
He added that the selection of companies came based on their data available at the various commercial representation offices, the extent of their seriousness in dealing, the volume of their import business, their previous business in their countries, and the financial solvency of each.
He explained that more than 160 bilateral meetings were prepared for the companies participating in the exhibition with the companies that were brought in as part of the buyers' mission by India, England, Kenya, Ghana, India, Spain, Erbil, Iraq and the United States of America.
For his part, Yahya Al-Minshawi, Director of Development and International Cooperation at the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers, explained that the arrangement for the buyers’ mission was with the support of the Egyptian commercial representation and offices spread in different countries with which meetings were coordinated, and that representatives of foreign companies found Egypt an effective communication gateway for them and the best in terms of shipping. and various logistics.
He said, "Egyptian companies expressed their happiness to participate in such meetings, calling for the continuation of such activities by the Export Council for Chemical Industries and Fertilizers."
It is mentioned that Egypt's exports of chemical industries and fertilizers occupy the first place in the ranking of Egyptian non-oil exports, representing 24% of the total Egyptian non-oil exports, with a value of about $8.629 billion, achieving a growth rate of 23% compared to the previous year 2021, whose exports amounted to about 7.033 billion dollars.
Egypt's exports of chemical industries and fertilizers rank seventh in the world, with an export volume of $3.4 billion in 2022, achieving a growth rate of 42% compared to 2021.
Turkey tops the list of importing markets for the sector's products with a value of $1.027 billion, and the growth rate of the sector's exports to the 10 most important markets (Italy, India, France, Britain, Spain, Sudan, Belgium, Brazil, Morocco) has reached about 32%.
