Mohamed Maged, Executive Director of the Export Council for Chemical Industries, explained that as a result of the activities witnessed by the Council during the period 2020-2024, the growth rate of the number of council members from companies increased by 30%.

30% increase in council members

Majeed added, during the meeting of the Export Council for Chemical Industries, that during the four years from 2020 to 2024, about 12 trade missions were organized abroad and 52 buyer missions to the Egyptian market, 429 bilateral meetings, 61 participations in international exhibitions, 53 participations in conferences and seminars, and 105 workshops and training were held.
Mohamed Maged revealed that three trade missions will be conducted in the coming period to Tanzania, Ghana and Russia, as these countries are witnessing steady economic growth with large investments in infrastructure, which provides opportunities for the sector’s exports, whether they are feeder industries such as paints, plastics, adhesives and intermediate chemicals or final and consumer goods. The agricultural sector in particular provides an important market for fertilizers to support crop production.

52 buyer missions for the Egyptian market

It is worth noting that the number of companies proposed for the mission ranges between 15 and 25 companies, and the sectors targeted by the mission are various chemical products, inks and paints, plastics and plastic products, fertilizer products, rubber products, detergents, and glass products from tableware.

For his part, Dr. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of the General Authority for Export and Import Control, pointed to the potential for cooperation between the Council and the Authority during the coming period to enable the Council’s companies to meet the requirements for carbon footprint inspection, referring to the efforts currently made by the Authority to adopt foreign standard specifications in order to enable Egyptian companies to export. He concluded that the Authority, in cooperation with the US Aid Agency, is currently studying the identification of the products to be exported, the export specifications, and the laboratories required to approve the specifications of these products and grant them the required certificate in foreign markets.
